Puppy Essentials - Items to Help You and Puppy Live Your Best Life

Congratulations on the new canine addition to your family!

Your world is forever changed thanks to your beautiful puppy.

Bringing home a new puppy can be so exciting but also overwhelming. Where do you begin with all the countless number of accessories available in shops and online?! We've put together a list of the items we found absolutely essential when Mister Boeing, our CFO (chief furry officer) first came into our lives seven years ago...

Adjustable collar

We obviously love our Airy Walk Essentials collars. These are lightweight and will grow with your pup because they grow fast!

Walk Leash

Having a non-retractable leash is ideal for when you are teaching your new pup leash manners. A useful length is 5-6 feet, just like our Airy leashes! Beware those puppy teeth though - no leash is indestructible and few can win against a teething canine!

Long Leash

A long line is excellent for when you are at a park or field. Recall training can be done safely with a 10, 15 or 25 foot lead. We especially love the Walk by Good Boy long lines.

Treat Pouch

You will 100% be needing treats when you start training. Whether you are at home on a walk or in a class, having treats within easy reach is essential. Thankfully, we've got the perfect solution in the Barkin' Treat Pouch! Stylish, easy to clean and dare we say aesthetic, this pouch will help you keep your pup happy and focused on you.

Bed, Crate and/or Gates

Your little fur ball is going to need a place to call his own. In those early weeks, he'll be snoozing a lot. After all, growing, learning, playing and even eating can be a big adventure! Having a crate for nighttime can help them feel more secure too. It's a big world and everything is new!

Chew Toys

Your pup has needle sharp baby teeth and your hands will thank you if you give them a puppy safe chew toy to chomp on rather than your digits! A few good chew toys can also help soothe their little gums because just like human children, your pups are experiencing teeth growing in. Chew toys can also help them use up some of that puppy energy too!

Puppy Pee Pad

Accidents happen, especially when they are learning their indoor manners. Puppies don't yet know where it is appropriate to go to the bathroom and their little bladders can't hold as much as their grown selves will be able to. Pee pads can help make your life easier by making clean up simpler.

We hope these tips can help! There are tons of fun options out there. Have fun and congratulations on your little furry companion - you will not regret it for one moment!
