Holiday Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Paws

Festive Dog Treats Your Pup Will Love

The holidays are a time for treats, love, and celebration—and that includes our four-legged family members! If you’re looking for a special way to make the holidays a little more special for your pup, this easy recipe for Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Paws is just the delicious thing.

Made with healthy, dog-safe ingredients, these treats are perfect for spoiling your furry friend! This recipe really only requires four ingredients, each one with its own health benefits too!

The Ingredients

Pumpkin Puree: This is a great source of fibre and vitamins, perfect for pups that need to be mindful of their digestion. But make sure it’s plain puree and NOT pumpkin pie filling! Also make sure there are no added sugar or spices.

Natural Peanut Butter: Packed with protein and flavour, but double-check that it’s free from xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.

Whole Wheat Flour: A hearty base for the treats. If your dog has a sensitive stomach, you can substitute it with oat flour.

Egg: Helps bind the ingredients together for the perfect dough consistency. They're also a healthy element as they contain protein, fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals

The Recipe

🎄 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (no added sugar or spices)
  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive tummies)
  • 1 egg
  • Optional Toppings Ideas: cranberries, carob chips, dried apples or unsweetened coconut flakes, dog friendly icing

🎄 Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and egg. Mix until smooth.
  3. Gradually add in the flour, stirring until it forms a dough. If it’s sticky, add a little more flour.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and use holiday-themed cookie cutters (like paw shapes, bones, or stars) to cut out the treats.
  5. If you are decorating with extras, place them on your cookies.
  6. Place the treats on the baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let them cool completely before serving to your pup.

🎁 Bonus Idea: Package these treats in a festive jar or bag and gift them to your dog-loving friends!

Whether you’re spending a cozy evening at home or gifting them to friends, these festive treats are guaranteed to bring joy to dogs and dog parents alike.
